Kokoa Vallila Suolaheinä launched at Habitare

Kokoa Vallila -interior panels can be used in creating details or to cover larger areas.
Introducing the latest addition to Koskisen’s Kokoa wood products line for interior design – Kokoa Vallila Suolaheinä. The newest wooden panel joins Arkki, Kuvio and Matta and features the Vallila company’s Suolaheinä (sorrel in English) flower pattern. The new product was launched at the Habitare design fair in Finland in early September.

Nina Kangas, sales representative of Kokoa interior products, says the outlook for the new panels appears to be quite positive, as retailers have already been showing interest in Kokoa Vallila Suolaheinä – even before the product has been officially launched. The Suolaheinä package consists of six panels that form an image and can be easily extended or complemented by other Koskisen Kokoa design panels.

“We are very happy that we have been able to cooperate with such a strong brand as Vallila. Vallila’s design patterns will enhance the value of our Kokoa products and increase their visibility in the markets,” Kangas believes.

Good cooperation

According to Minna Luomalahti, who handles product development for the Kokoa products, cooperation with Vallila is proceeding well. After the first batch of Suolaheinä panels were produced last fall, the manufacture and, in particular, the printing of the surface pattern have been developed and the product is now ready for industrial production.

“The pattern, printed on a living wooden surface, is very impressive – it’s like a painting! In addition to Koskisen’s design products, the panels can be combined with other Vallila products, such as wallpaper and curtains,” she explains.

On display at Puuinfo’s section at Habitare

According to Luomalahti, sales of Kokoa design panels have gone delightfully well in the spring and summer and the panels have been featured in public spaces in particular.
“The panels are a suitable surface material for both open and high public spaces and on a single wall in private homes. Even just a few panels of the flower design work well as a design element.”

The Kokoa Vallila Suolaheinä design panels were on display at Puuinfo’s section at the Habitare fair, where the WoodCafe info desk has been completely clad with Kokoa design panels. In conjunction with the fair, Koskisen is also carrying out market research to determine the design products’ target groups, distribution channels and target markets.

“The results of the market research, carried out by an interdisciplinary team of students from Aalto University, will be ready by the end of fall. The results will be used to develop the Kokoa design products business,” concludes Luomalahti.
